Sentimental Sundays-Challenge 139

Wow - two posts in one day! That might be a first for me. I am popping in tonight quickly to post a card I made for a new challenge blog I came across called Sentimental Sundays. Very simple - make a thank you card. We can never have too many of those on hand!

White and black cardstock are from Stampin Up as is the stamp sentiment. Black ribbon is from My Craft Spot, tag die is Spellbinders. Those cute little white flowers were found in my stash - I believe I picked them up in the wedding aisle at Michaels Craft Store. You'd be surprised what you can find in that aisle - and very inexpensive!
That is it for me for this wet, icy Sunday evening.
Stay safe~

Hugs and Kisses

Good morning and happy Sunday. I was up early this morning - read a few more chapters in a book I'm reading by Lisa Gardner, over a nice, hot cup of coffee, visited a few of my favorite blogs, and finished another valentine card!

Black and white card stock is from Stampin Up, pattern papers and tag are from Authentique, key, ribbon and red dome stickers are from Michaels Craft store, twine and heart dies are Papertrey Ink.

I am always writing about the poor photos my camera takes. I have been saving for a better camera but haven't really read up on what is out there. You all take pictures and post them on your blog - can you tell me what brand of camera you use and why?  Just part of my study! I appreciate it.

I'm sure there will be more cards made this morning...I feel the itch of creativity and I hate to stop when that happens! Enjoy your Sunday~

True Love

Dusted, vacuumed, bathrooms scoured, floors washed, laundry dried, folded and put away - whew! I swore I would not step foot into my craft room until all chores were completed. The last 2 weeks have been so busy for me at work. I've brought work home on the weekends too. Haven't had time to take care of the household chores!
So now that I can take a break and play with some new Valentine goodies I am here to post a card I just finished -

Pink and red cardstock is from Stampin Up, pattern papers are Martha Stewart, heart dies are Papertrey Ink, rub-on from Basic Grey, ribbon and flowers are from Michaels Craft Store.
I may be popping in here tomorrow with a few more cards. Weather forecast is calling for an ice storm in our area tomorrow so I plan to stay hunkered down here!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend~

..another birthday

Another Sunday is here already - boy, did this weekend go by fast! Maybe because my sweet little godson came to stay for the weekend! I treasure the time we spend together; whether it is playing with Lego's, building make-believe vehicles and ships with headless pirates and flying creatures or playing Mario Bros on the Wii - everything goes on hold while he is here. There is going to come a time where he will be 'too big' to want to hang out with his Aunt Nancy! So I'll take it while I can.
I made this card with a birthday theme in mind. But actually, I think it can be used for any occasion. I debated on adding some sort of sentiment on a tag in the lower corner but then I didn't. Which is why it can be used for any occasion.

It looks as if I took these pictures with black and white film but it's actually in color! The papers are gray with black, gray and white in it. The ribbons and lace trim are also from my stash as is the 2 little flowers glued to the center of the bow. The silver and  pearl doohickey is not a stick pin-believe it or not! It is actually connected to a flimsy piece of wire. I found these at Hobby Lobby. Very inexpensive, I might add!

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. I am hoping to be back with some Valentine cards to share -

Pre Happy New Year - 2013

I want to extend an early happy new year greeting as I probably won't post until next week or so. I have put away all my christmas goodies and hauled out the pinks, reds, glitter and hearts to start crafting for valentines day.
However, my family has one last December birthday to celebrate. My niece's birthday was 12/28 however we are celebrating today. My sister is making a big pot of chili along with the traditional birthday cake and ice cream. Okay, so a few more days before I start the diet-hahaha!
Here is the card I made for her:

Pattern papers, tag,  and cardstock image are from Graphic 45's "A Lady's Diary" line, rosette trim is Maya Road,  ribbon, pearls, and flower are all from my stash.
One of my goals for 2013 is to take a photography class and save my pennies and nickels for a good camera! I wish you all a healthy and happy new year...
Happy 2013!

Happy Holidays

Happy Friday! If you are like me and can't put away all your Christmas goodies, not to worry! I think there are alot of us out there that are still making Christmas cards and papercrafts just because!
My daughter went through my stash of Christmas cards to pass out to co-workers at her office holiday party. She just texted me and told me everyone loved them-I'm so happy. It makes it all worth while!

Here is a card I made just because...

Pattern paper and cardstock sticker from Melissa Frances, tag sentiment and twine from PTI, trim, ribbon and jingle bell from my stash.

This is a treat bag made from a large glassine bag. The actual tutorial is on Maile Belles blog. If you go to the PTI blog, you can click on Maile's picture and it will take you to her blog.
Pattern paper from Stampin Up, tag and image from Pretty Little Studio, ribbon and tinsel trim are from my stash and the glassine bag is from PTI.
That is it from me today. All my preparations for christmas are finished - baking is done, gifts are wrapped so I guess I will start cleaning up my craft space and get ready for Valentines Day!!
Peace and joy to you this holiday season~

Final christmas cards...

Before I begin to share my last few christmas cards, I would like to acknowledge the events that took place in Conneticut at the Sandy Hook Elementary school. There are no words to express what is going through my head and heart. As a mother who has lost a child, I can only hope and pray these parents get through this horrible tragedy.

Here are a few more christmas cards that I made this past week -

Image is from Beatrice Jennings etsy shop, pattern papers are from Stampin Up and Melissa Frances, ribbon from My Craft Spot, twine from PTI and the button is from my stash.

This next card has pattern papers and candy cane from Melissa Frances, image from Crafty Secrets, twine from PTI and ribbon and jingle bell from Michael's craft store.

My last card has pattern paper and images from Graphic 45, ribbon from My Craft Spot. That is it for me. I wish you all a good week ahead. As for me, I have another week off and plan to spend it Christmas shopping, wrapping, baking and visiting friends and family. And hopefully cleaning up my craft space and organizing yet again!
Hugs,
Nancy
