Flowers, flowers #2

Hi blogger friends - my 2nd post in one day...very unusual for me but I did say I was going to do nothing but stay in my jammies all day! I'm still in my jammies, but I have done a few things. One of them is making a card for the challenge at Sentimental Sundays in addition to the shadow box frame that I posted earlier this morning.

I have been waiting to use a few new dies I recently bought. One is Spellbinders Persian Motifs which I stamped my sentiment (Papertrey Ink) in the center of it. The other die is Papertrey Ink's Beautiful Blooms II #1 that I cut from their felt.
That is it from me for today. I'm going over to Sentimental Sunday's blog to post my card!
Bye-bye

Flowers, flowers...

Happy Sunday! A sunny but chilly sunday here in Chicagoland!
I am popping in to share a shadow box frame I decorated for the challenge at Sentimental Sundays #143 - Flowers, flowers and more flowers!

The pattern papers are from a box of scraps - I'm a paper hoarder! The flowers are Prima, the scroll and keyhole are Melissa Frances, the heart bling is Zva (I think-lost the packaging).

That is it from me for today. I am planning to do absolutely NOTHING today - stayin in my jammies!!
Enjoy the rest of today!

'25'

Today is my baby girl's 25th birthday! You would think she was getting married with the celebration plans she has made! We spent all day today running errands, buying her 'party' dress and accessories, getting her hair and makeup done..yikes! But the results are stunning! To be that young again...!

As I was enjoying my morning coffee, looking through the latest Paper Crafts magazine, I came across a sketch that I liked and used it to make her birthday card.

All card stock is from Stampin Up, pattern paper is by October Afternoon, the oval lace die is Spellbinders. I cut out the numbers from my Cricut. No, the numbers are not crooked, I purposely placed them to make it look sort of whimsical. But the more I look at it, it does look crooked!!

I also would like to mention that the card I entered in the "Something New" challenge over at Sentimental Sundays was randomly picked as one of the winners!! I am so very excited!

It is late and I still have to make a couple pans of lasagne for tomorrow's birthday dinner celebration with the family! So with that - have a good night!

Love is in the air...

Hi everyone - just popping in to post a card I am entering into the Sentimental Sundays challenge #141-'Love is in the air...'. They want alot of pinks, reds, and hearts so here it is!

Talk about using up scraps of papers, ribbons, card stock...everything I used on this card! Red, white and pink cardstock is from Stampin Up. Heart stick pins are from Maya Road, the stamped image is from an old set I have by Stampin Up, along with the red ink. I'm thinking I should have heat embossed this in red--- and the red glitter domes are by Crystal stickers which I got at Michaels craft store.
That's it from me - I'm off to enter my card over at Sentimental Sundays! Have the best week ever!

Birthday wishes...

I am sending up good wishes and prayers to all the folks out east enduring the blizzard! I work with a bunch of great people in our Massachusettes office and they were sent home yesterday by noon due to the weather conditions. Stay safe my friends!!

I am also sending birthday wishes to my little sis - happy happy birthday Vonnie!! A bunch of the family are getting together tonight at a fabulous resturant and winery called Cooper's Hawk - good food and great wine. My favorite is a sweet, red wine called Romance Red...gah, to die for! My sis also likes to make cards and loves to scrapbook her 2 little guys. So, to help out her addiction, I bought her a gift card to one of her favorite scrapbooking stores!

To gift wrap the gift card, I used my new Papertrey Ink Pillow Box die and slid the card inside.
A perfict fit for a gift card! After die cutting the pillow box with black card stock, I used Versa-mark to stamp the birthday present image and heat embossed with Ranger's Seafoam White embossing powder. I secured it shut by tying a white ribbon vertically and finished it off with a felt red rosebud from my stash.
To coordinate with the pillow box, I made her birthday card staying with the black and white theme.

White and black cardstock from Stampin Up, seam binding from My Craft Spot, red rosebud from my stash and the sentiment is also from Stampin Up. I used a Spellbinder die to cut the tag.

Well friends, hope you have a fabulous weekend.

Welcome Little One

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Any big plans to celebrate? I'm lying low today - haven't even gone outside. I awoke this morning to more falling snow! So far it looks to be just a dusting but the weather forecast is calling for 2-5 more inches overnight! Will it miss us...(I hope)?

Today I am joining the challenge over at Sentimental Sundays - *Celebrating the "NEW"**(plus a sentiment). They want to see creations that celebrate new jobs, new baby, new ride, new wife....etc. I had started this baby card a long time ago but never finished. I guess I was waiting for someone to have a baby and then I could finish it with pink or blue. Well, I finished it this morning - in yellow and green!

The note card is Hero Arts, the stamped images and sentiment are Stampin Up as well as the coordinating cardstock and ink, ribbon is Papertrey Ink. The buttons and flowes are from my stash.
Enjoy the game tonight - I am off to post my card. Have a great week!

best day ever

HappySaturday! What a weather roller coaster we have been on here in Chicagoland! We went from temps in the 60's down to -2 degrees with about 1 inch of snow. That comes after the freezing rain and ice storm we had last weekend! Can't wait to see what is in store for us next week~

Today I have a card to share - one I made for my great-nephew's birthday. I believe he and his twin sister are turning 13 this year. Today my niece is having their birthday party so I was up early and put this together. A challenge in itself because I am use to flowers and lace and all the shabbiness I love to creating something masculine. A tough one for me but here is how it turned out.

Pattern papers, stickers and tag are all from the Awesome line by Simple Stories. Ric-rac die from Papertrey Ink and card stock from Stampin Up.
I have a little time to kill before I leave for their birthday party so why not spend it making more Valentine cards! Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow to share.
Have a great Saturday and rest of the weekend. Are you watching the Super bowl game? Hope your team wins!
