Shadow effect

Hi friends,
I sure do love my Sunday mornings! Just sitting here in my jammies enjoying a cup of coffee and downloading pictures from my cell onto my computer. I came across a birthday card I made a few weeks ago and thought I would share it.

Very clean and simple and put together quickly. All supplies are from Stampin Up. I used white cardstock for my base and layered it with a panel of Delightful Dijon cardstock. I took another white panel and stamped ink splatters using Delighful Dijon ink. Actually those ink splatters is a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge set. I then cut out the Happy Birthday using a die in both black and Delightful Dijon cardstock. I layered them together to give it a shadow effect and to add dimension.

I've been making all sorts of hand made christmas cards and gifts lately. I made 2 more waterfall cards that I posted about last week. This is a great way to use up those scraps you are saving!

I had paper scraps and ephemera pieces left from a mini album I made last year using Carta Bella Christmas Wonderland paper pack.

I found a simple tutorial on making desktop calenders which will make for a fun Secret Santa gift for a coworker! I'll share some of those next week. Until then, enjoy your week ahead and have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.

Wintery

Oh boy, I discovered a new YouTube channel called MayMay Made It! She is amazing! She's from Alabama and I love listening to her talk with her southern accent and charm. I came across a couple of projects she has done - and not just card making. She is one crafty lady. Check out her youtube channel- maymaymadeit.
She has a 5 part series called 60 cards/tags from one paper pack. I followed along and made every card and tag from a christmas collection, leaving a couple of scrap pieces. I am all set with my christmas cards for the next 2 years!
I also played along with her tutorial on a card that has a pull tab that creates a waterfall folio. The first one is the one I made following along with the video using the 6x6 collection by Carta Bella A Very Merry Christmas.

Below is my version of the same style card using a Graphic 45 collection:

The bottom part of the page with the pattern paper would be for a photo, and the top part could be for another photo or use to journal the picture.
As promised, I finished decorating the mini album that I showed you last week. I used Authentique Wintry.

The inside left features a horizontal and a vertical folio with a magnetic band.
This is the center that has another folio along with a pocket.

I made a few photo booklets to stick inside the pocket in center of the album.

That is it for this Sunday. Have a great week ahead.

More mini albums

I have 2 mini albums to share today. Actually I completed one and one is just the 'skeleton' of a different style. So grab your favorite beverage and get comfy as there are quite a few pictures.

This first one I made to give my sister on her birthday a few weeks ago. It is a christmas themed book using Authentique's Vintage Christmas.

The front cover:
The twine, button, and star pick is from my stash. The poinsettia is from Petaloo and the white buds are from Michael's.

Inside front cover - I made 2 photo booklets to put inside the pocket. They will hold 2x3 photos.

Each page has a top flap that lifts up for a photo or use as journeling.

Using Tim Holz Movers & Shapers die, I cut out the 25 using paper from the collection and 'shadowed' it with black cardstock so it would show up better against the background pattern paper.

Using one of the cut aparts in the collection, I made another photo booklet that lifts up.
All the flaps have magnetic closures.
The back cover holds a waterfall folio.

I came across another style of mini album on Mysistersscrapper's blog and her tutorials are amazing. Of course I had to make one! I haven't decorated it yet - I will share the finished album in my next post. Here is what I've made so far:

This is the front cover using gray cardstock- the side flap has a magnetic closure.
Inside front cover has 2 waterfall folio's. These are held down with magnetic bands.
This is the center of the book. The top has another waterfall folio, the bottom has a pocket.
The center folio lifts up so you can add a larger size photo or leave it as is.
I can't wait to start decorating it. I'll be using Authentique's Wintery line. I love all the gray's, blue's and a touch of red in this paper line.

Enjoy your week ahead!
