Card Patterns - Sketch 134

Hi again,
A real quick post to show you the card I made for the challenge over at Card Patterns. Here is this week's sketch:

And my card:

Pattern paper from Little Yellow Bicycle, card stock and circle stamps are from Stampin Up, sentiment from Hero Arts, pumpkin paper clip from Spare Parts and the ribbon, button and gem are from my stash. Off to post my card at Card Patterns. Who knows -maybe I will get through the mess on my craft table and start another card for a challenge at CR84FN!
Enjoy your Sunday -

Baby Girl

Hi all,
Is this really the last Sunday in September already?! My, this month has passed by so fast.
I was asked by a friend from work to make a card for a friend of hers who just had a sweet baby girl. I started it late last night and finished it this morning.

Pattern paper from the Paper Studio, Tattered Angels frame which I painted white, distressed it with PTI Chai ink and glittered it up with Stampin Up Dazziling Diamond glitter. Layered it on top of Crafty Sectrets Cotton Scraps and Little Yellow Bicycle doily. Rub on by Melissa Frances and gems from Hero Arts. The pink lace trim is from my stash. I don't remember where I picked it up from!
I'm a bit under the weather today as I've been fighting a head cold for two days. I'm hoping to straighten up my craft room and clean off my work area. But staying in my jammies and drinking hot soup sounds so much better!
There is a new challenge over at CR84FN and Card Patterns that I am hoping to enter - maybe later today?
Have a great Sunday!

Card Patterns - Sketch 133

Hi all,
I am popping in to show you the card I made for the challenge at Card Patterns. Below is the sketch for this week:

And here is my card:

Everything I use on this card is from Melissa Frances except the 2 pearls which are from Hero Arts - my last two!
I am off to post my card and then on to the family room to watch the Emmy's! I'm such a sucker for Hollywood!
Good night!

page layout

Hi all,
What a dreary Sunday. Woke up to a chilly, wet morning. I'm just popping in to post a scrapbook page! I don't know why, but I find scrapbooking is more challenging than any other paper craft! I can create a card or alter a frame or put together a recipe book in no time. But to create a page layout for a scrapbook takes me forever! Long story which I will tell you about after I show off my page.

When my nephew and godson Aiden turned a year old in 2006, I had made a 8 X 8 scrapbook of his first 12 months. I had told my sister I was going to make a scrapbook for each year up until he turned 5 in 2010. Here it is, September of 2011 and I'm still trying to finish it! Shame on me. However, the good news, is I am more than half way finished. I have about 4-5 more pages and it will be complete!
Now this is in between working full time, creating cards to enter into challenges, making birthday cards for friends and family members, thank you notes, sympathy cards, altered frames, etc. Now it's time to start making Halloween cards and such. I am so in the mood for fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas! And I am not a winter person!
I think I will attempt another page towards this scrapbook today since it is such a dreary day. Perfect scrapbooking weather-LOL!
Have a good week -
Nancy

Shabby Tea Room-week 78

Hi all,
Happy Sunday to you. I'm popping in this morning to show you a card I just finshed for the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room. It is called Wedded Bliss using black, pink, and neutral. Here is one of the photo's posted for inspiration:
I do not own anythink with a cameo on it but I remembered the Melissa Frances 5th Avenue stickers! Lo and behold there was a black and white picture of a bride that fit perfectly in the middle of my doily die cut from PTI.

The die cut and grosgrain ribbon is Stampin Up. Pattern paper is from Making Memories and card stock is from Michaels Craft Store. Misc. button and sentiment.  Now if only I had a wedding to attend....sigh!

I cannot believe the weekend is almost over and Monday is upon us. Summer is almost over and fall is approaching. Have you started to pull out your fall decorations yet? I actually bought a couple of fallish candle holders to get me in the mood.

Aren't these owls the sweetest?? What do their eyes remind you of? Paper rosettes!! I bet if I had the right kind of punches, I could create similar owls - heehee! And look at the squirrel on this candle holder - aww.

I purchased these at the Yankee Candle store. They have some great new fall scents too. Are you getting in the mood yet?
Well, I am off to post my card over at the Shabby Tea Room. I only hope I'm not late this time!
I also want to make mention of today's date. As you all know it is the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attack at Ground Zero. Please take a moment to remember our fallen men and women who were killed that day.
Have a great Sunday - Nancy

Bicycle Plant stand

Hi all,
I hope you enjoyed your first day back to work after our 3 day weekend. Did you do anything fun and exciting? I finally did a bit of clean up in my flower beds. My sister bought me this beautiful bicyle plant stand for my birthday. I got it set up outside where I wanted it. I then went to Home Depot and picked up mums and a type of lavender for the fall.

The front pot is hand painted by my sweet little godson and nephew,
Aiden. I should have turned it around and taken a close up of it so you can read what he wrote in his own handwriting! He painted this last year so he was only five then. So sweet.
Well, that is it for me. I'm off to once again try and get my mojo back to make a card for the challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room and Card Patterns. Here we go again...!

Shabby Tea Room-week 77

Hi all,
Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone enjoyed their 3 day weekend! I spent the day yesterday and today with my little nephews, ages 4 and 6. I enjoy having them over. They like to help me around the house and help with the yard work. I need to start snapping more pictures of them!
I finally got around to completing my card for the Shabby Tea Room challenge - Birthstones.

My birthstone is Peridot for August.

Unfortunately, I am too late to post my card. Oh well, I plan to send this card to my girlfriend who just had foot surgery. Just a sweet hello to let her know I am thinking of her. Hope this cheers her up.
I better start my card for the this week's challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room - Wedded Bliss. Pink, Black and neutrals. Yummy.
Enjoy your labor day and the rest of your holiday weekend.
